[ Ulleungdo Specialty Chamgobi (Dried Fern 50g) ]
Seomgosari (Island Fern) is called Chamgobi or Ulleunggosari in Ulleungdo. It is a perennial plant found in Ulleungdo, Taebaeksan Mountain, and Jecheon. Widely distributed from mid-mountain areas to high mountain regions, Chamgobi is a representative premium wild vegetable that has never been absent from ancestral rite tables since the settlement of Ulleungdo. Young Chamgobi is easily distinguished from regular ferns by its round, curled leaves and black scales on the stems.
Dried Chamgobi expands 6 to 7 times its original size when boiled. Island bracken, known as Chamgobi or Ulleung bracken on Ulleungdo Island, is a perennial herb found in Ulleungdo, Taebaeksan Mountain, and Jecheon. Widely distributed from mid-mountainous areas to high mountainous regions, Chamgobi is particularly rich in fiber and contains protein, lipids, calcium, phosphorus, and Vitamin B2. While its nutritional value is similar to that of bracken, it is a food with higher calorie content. Chamgobi is rich in high-quality protein and carbohydrates, and contains vitamins, ash, and nicotinic acid. It is a highly nutritious and delicious wild vegetable, known as a premium wild edible plant and a health food with significant pharmacological effects. Due to its high ash content, it has long been said to be beneficial for teeth. Furthermore, it contains high-quality protein, Vitamins A, B2, and C, pentosan, carotene, and nicotinic acid. Not only is it highly nutritious, but in folk medicine, it is known to be effective as a treatment for eczema, neuralgia, edema, and abdominal pain.
