Hohodang aims to preserve our heritage in the most authentic way possible through traditions passed down through our fingertips.

We present a Yutnori game, traditionally enjoyed by families gathering around to throw sticks during the holidays, infused with Hohodang's unique style.

This is a Yutnori set featuring a Saekdong pattern wrapping cloth (Bojagi) adorned with the five traditional Korean colors (blue, yellow, red, white, and black).

Embracing the spirits of warding off evil spirits and wishing for longevity and good health embodied in the five colors, we are introducing this new product with the hope that you spend quality time with your family during the upcoming holidays.

In Yutnori, Korea's representative board game, the calculation of the number of kicks based on the sticks originates from the gaits of animals. It is said that the number of kicks for each stick was determined by drawing inspiration from the size and speed of animals: Do (pig), Gae (dog), Geol (sheep), Yut (cow), and Mo (horse). The sight of the game pieces darting back and forth across the board, depending on the outcome of tossing the four sticks, was the ultimate joy families enjoyed on holidays.

It is truly an exciting game that keeps you on the edge of your seat, requiring no special equipment.

Made with a double layer, the front features a thick quilted texture

with embroidery in the colorful Saekdong hues.

On one corner of the board, the old name for Yutnori, *Cheoksahui* (擲柶戲, 擲柶戱), is embroidered.

It is said to have originated from the meaning of throwing (擲) the *yut* (柶) sticks to play.

The back of the board features a double layer of Saekdong wrapping cloth.

The tassel strings attached to the corners are used to tie and store the Yutnori set.

2. Yut Sticks

These are compact wooden Yut sticks. One of the four Yut sticks has the phrase "May only good things happen" engraved on its back, allowing you to create a rule that applies only when that specific stick is flipped over during the game.

3. Yut Horses

There are two sets of Yut Horses, each consisting of four apples and four pears.

They are lightweight and adorably sized, featuring illustrations on thick paper.

4. Silk Striped Saekdong Wrapping Cloth

This is the silk striped Saekdong wrapping cloth used to package the Yutnori set.

It is a double-sided wrapping cloth,

one side is black, and the other is Saekdong.

Both sides feature a tiger and the character for "fortune" embroidered on the fabric surface.

Washing Instructions

*Please wash the Yut Board according to the POLYESTER standard.

We recommend washing with cold or lukewarm water using a neutral detergent.

Please note that washing with hot water may cause deformation or shrinkage of the fabric product.

Avoid strong spin drying or using a dryer. (Deformation may occur if using a high-temperature dryer.)

When ironing, please iron at a low temperature of 120°C or lower,

using a thin cloth placed over the garment.

If using an iron with temperature settings for different materials,

please mark the setting to ‘Polyester’ before ironing.
