It is a nostalgic taste. My hometown is Hadong. This taste brings back vivid memories of my childhood summer vacations; whenever it rained and we couldn't go outside, my mother would start kneading dough in the morning, waiting for it to ferment, and boiling red beans for us. After a long wait, the smell of steamed buns wafting from the pot—just as everyone was about to faint—was finally released by Mom, and the taste of the buns remains incredibly vivid to me even now that I am an adult. Thank you for bringing back such joyful and warm memories from the past.
**Where Hadong Green Tea Steamed Buns Are Located**
**"Akyang-ri, Hadong-myeon," a place of excellent water and fresh air**
Akyang-myeon in Hadong is a quiet and tranquil rural village where the clear air of Mt. Jirisan and clean water flow. Since making steamed buns in an unclean environment and dealing with the characteristic chemical smell of tap water causes them to lose their unique flavor and aroma, we produce clean, pure, and wholesome steamed buns free of chemical additives, preservatives, and artificial coloring in Akyang-myeon, which preserves the pristine natural environment.
**Hadong’s Specialty: Green Tea Steamed Buns**
We fermented the buns using green tea powder, a local specialty of Hadong. We used ingredients like plum extract to create the red bean paste filling, preserving the unique flavor of the beans. Please try 'Hadong Green Tea Steamed Buns' signature menu item: the Domestic Wheat Green Tea Steamed Bun. Whole Wheat Steamed Buns with a Chewy, Not-too-Sweet Texture
We made these using only a small amount of sugar to preserve the unique flavor of the red bean paste. If you are looking for the least sweet and most classic steamed bun, we recommend our whole wheat buns! You can experience a chewy texture that you won't get tired of, along with a pleasantly mild, not-too-sweet taste.
Yellow-Colored Sweet Pumpkin Steamed Buns
With a chewy texture that isn't dry and a nutty aroma of sweet pumpkin! These are our domestic wheat sweet pumpkin steamed buns where all these elements harmonize deliciously.
Subtle-Fragrant Mugwort Steamed Buns
Made using mugwort harvested in early spring. The fragrant scent of mugwort blends smoothly with the mild and nutty red bean paste.
Yang Dae-hwa, Who Makes Steamed Buns with Heart
"What's so special about a single steamed bun? All bread is pretty much the same!" Some people say this. However, I believe that food reflects the person who makes it. To proudly introduce steamed buns that resemble us, we pour sincerity and honesty into every single one of our breads. Kind and honest steamed buns, please give them your support!
Cooking Method:
When using a steamer: Add water to the steamer and bring it to a boil. Once steam rises, place the frozen steamed buns inside and steam for about 10 minutes. (Time may vary depending on the steamer used at home and the temperature.)
When cooking in a microwave: Place the steamed buns in a microwave-safe container, sprinkle with an appropriate amount of water, cover with plastic wrap or a plastic bag, and heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
