This is the thickest stem (root) part of the kelp.

A precious part yielding only about 30g per sheet of kelp!

You can extract the richest and most delicious broth with this.

Please do not consume it raw; use it exclusively for making broth!

Please note!

- The white powder on the surface of the kelp is an umami-enhancing component called 'Mannatal.' It is safe to consume, so please do not wash this part too much when cleaning!

- Occasionally, if you see green or yellowish-brown powder on the kelp, it is not mold but dried mud from the tidal flats used for harvesting. Simply wash it thoroughly once before use.
