Product Composition: Yeongu Gulbi Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Steamed Barley-Dried Yellow Croaker (Large) x 10 fish
Salted in Beopseongpo, Yeonggwang using traditional solar salt.
Naturally dried and thoroughly washed with herbs.
Made with large, thick Chinese Buse (Sea Buseo).
Why use Chinese Buse for Yeonggwang Beopseongpo Gulbi? Most steamed barley-dried yellow croaker produced in Korea is made from Chinese Buse. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, which involves long drying and salting, the fish shrinks significantly compared to the original size. Consequently, using relatively smaller Korean yellow croaker yields a edible quantity and is too expensive. Therefore, we use Buse, which is both large and delicious, to make barley-dried yellow croaker. Above all, the salting and drying processes are the most critical for barley-dried yellow croaker. Yeongu Gulbi's steamed barley-dried yellow croaker is produced hygienically and cleanly in Beopseongpo, Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do, following traditional methods throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Please note! Although Bori-gulbi boasts a pungent yet deep flavor, if you are not accustomed to its distinctive aroma and taste, you can enjoy it more cleanly by removing the head and fins before eating!
