Why is 6-year-old red ginseng so good?

Red ginseng must be made from 6-year-old ginseng to reach its peak content of saponins beneficial to the body. While 4- to 5-year-old ginseng also reaches a certain level of saponin content, it cannot match the variety and number of beneficial saponins found in 6-year-old ginseng. It is produced using an "extraction method" that involves boiling the concentrate for a certain period of time, rather than the "dilution method" of adding water. While some small health food stores or ordinary households boil red ginseng at high temperatures, doing so destroys most of the saponins. "Kkotma Red Ginseng" is extracted at low temperatures below 85 degrees Celsius, ensuring that the saponins are well preserved.
