About Gaetteok

• It is a unique and easy rice cake that has a slightly rough texture with the fibres of the mugwort leaves. When you take a bite, it can be slightly grassy. But afterwards, you can view and notice the eucalyptus-like pungency fragrant that is rustic and fancy. The shape of Gaetteok is a bit different from other types of Korean cake, it is comparable to a flattened medallion. Ancestors used to make it during spring - the perfect time they can feel the most wonderful herbal scent. Enjoy the traditional Korean rice cake named “Gae-tteok” which is full of mugwort scent and texture!

How to eat

• For a small amount, microwave it for 2 to 3 minutes
• For bulk, steam in a steamer or rice cooker for 15 to 20 minutes
• For more chewy taste, add sesame oil to the rice cake.
• Fiber may come out while eating rice cake, but this is because it is made using 100% live mugwort – you don’t have to worry about it
